School Spirit! Feb. 18-24, 2016 Newsletter #21
The 9/10 History class is looking at how propaganda affected people’s attitudes during and after WWII. They made their own propaganda posters.
The 7/8 class was asked to pretend they were aliens and design a system of social structure for a new colony. They will apply these ideas to how the city states in ancient Greece developed so differently because they were separated from each other.
Alien Worlds What is Truth?

There was much excitement and anticipation for the Korean feast day again thisyear! Many parents were able to come up

just to spend the morning preparing several wonderful dishes for us.
A special guest from the Korean embassy, the1st Secretary, Mr. Kim, also attended. Thank you!

And there’s always more about food here: the Home Ec class made perogies, stuffed with either potato or home-made cottage cheese.
In a different kind of ‘cooking’, the Chemistry class made scents, such as, apple and pear, from combining alcohol with carboxylic acids.
We had two Spirit Days this week to encourage the Middle School as they prepare for their big basketball and volleyball tournament this Friday and Saturday.

I bet you didn’t know we had so many twins at MCS!
And here are some crazy hair styles…

In Chapel the Grade 11 performed a funny skit about Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and their faith in God.
In Church, we are watching a series from Matt Chandler, asking us to focus on God’s gifts in the past instead of what we want or think we deserve. This will make us more generous ourselves.

Over the weekend, the High School went to ISB for shopping and dinner.
The Middle School kids made ice cream!
