Getting Off Campus! April 21-27, 2016 Newsletter #28
The Elementary had a day trip to the Lok Versa Museum in Islamabad. This excellent museum displays the history and culture of Pakistan. Miss Edwards had the students choose an object on which to do further research back at school. Then they will make a power point presentation. They were also treated to a special lunch at a restaurant, which they really enjoyed!

The Elementary/Junior High had their Campout with mostly good weather. A hike to the waterfall was rewarded with a picnic lunch and playing in the refreshing water. Back at camp there were the usual activities: campfires, roasting marshmallows, food challenge games and sleeping in tents.

The Senior High went to ISOI for a day of basketball and football. They won both tournaments. Spectators showed a lot of school spirit!

In Chapel Daniel, a visitor from Ireland shared about a fascinating journey he
is on: riding a bicycle from New Zealand to Ireland! He’s already been in 8 countries. He has experienced everything from steep mountain roads to a 90 mile straight road in Australia. He has appreciated the friendliness of people as they have offered him a place to sleep or a meal.
In Church Mr. Raiter spoke on 4 metaphors for the cross: as a sacrifice, a payment, a cleansing and a victory. All of these show the seriousness of sin and the love of our Savior!

In case you didn’t know, we have a ‘Tuc’ shop run by the Grade 11 class as a way of earning money to pay for the end of year senior high banquet. The tradition is that they pay for the special day and meal for the graduating class. They learn a little about running a business and taking care of customers; and both students and staff look forward to buying a candy or drink to give them a little energy to make it through the day!
